Shell Town

Emblematic of a hot suburban childhood, the inexpensive shell paddling pool was a staple in almost all households. Mostly collecting dirt and stains in an overgrown section of the garden, its garish blue stark against the green and yellow landscape. This work playfully explores the absurdity of Australian culture and an insistence of holding on to shallow, overplayed facades.
