Tennis Court
A collaborative piece between the artist, her younger cousins and her grandparents. Contemplating the life her grandparents lived prior to having sixteen grandchildren, the artist wanted to play with this tension in the piece. Prints from the early years of the couples relationship were given to their grandchildren under the age of six. The children were given fabric paint and markers and no direction. What emerged were humorous, gestural works that playfully interact with the photos, one child even exclaiming “I painted them in jail!”
